February Luncheon

March 1, 2018

Anne Martin joined our February luncheon and discussed the employment law topics of harrassment in the workplace, non-competes, and contractual agreements.

Anne practices commercial litigation and employment law at Bone McAllester Norton, PLLC. A preeminent Nashville employment lawyer, Anne has been widely published in the areas of employment law as it relates to matters including discharge, disability leave, discrimination, harassment and non-compete agreements. She is also an adjunct professor at Belmont Law School, and has been named Nashville Employment Lawyer of the Year by the Best Lawyers in America in 2012-2018. Anne loves being a lawyer and attributes that to excellent mentoring by lawyers who taught her how to provide good client service, how to appropriately and effectively communicate with her clients and what was expected of her by judges before whom she appears. Anne is proud of the clients she has helped over the years and of the recognition she has achieved for her leadership among her peers. She prides herself on being a problem solver, whether that means litigation or negotiation. She is especially skilled at taking a client’s problem, analyzing it determining the best means of achieving the client’s objective, all while keeping in mind the type and size of the issues involved. Anne has been president of the Nashville Lawyers’ Association for Women, the National Association of Women’s Bar Associations and a member of the Nashville Bar Association Board of Directors. In addition to practicing law and her bar activities, Anne is active in her local community. She served on Mayor Dean’s Advisory Council on Early Childhood Development and Education, and currently serves on the Boards of Planned Parenthood of Middle and East Tennessee and NashvilleCARES. As much as Anne enjoys her profession, she feels an obligation to give back to the community and to use the special gifts she has developed as a lawyer to help others who cannot help themselves. Anne is a 1989 graduate of Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts and a 1992 graduate of Vanderbilt Law School.
